Secondary Program Long-Term Substitute
Williamsburg Montessori School (WMS) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a long-term substitute in our Secondary program starting mid-to-late February 2018 until June 2018 for a lead teacher on maternity leave. Classroom duties include presenting current United States History and Language Arts curriculum to include Socratic Seminar and micro-economy, differentiating learning to accommodate a variety of learners, assessing student learning, maintaining record keeping and student observations, and assisting in student-led conferences. The long-term substitute will also maintain timely and appropriate parent communication as necessary, attend Secondary Plane staff meetings, and collaborate with Secondary teaching team members.
- Qualified applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and must be knowledgeable in areas of history, literature, and writing instruction.
- Must be knowledgeable of and committed to Montessori philosophy and pedagogy and the valorization of the adolescent individual.
- Preferred completion of Secondary Montessori training.
- Applicants must observe the classroom and work with current classroom teacher in order to provide consistency and a seamless transition into the second semester.
- Applicants must be open to feedback, collaboration and compromise.

Upper Elementary Intern Teacher
Williamsburg Montessori School (WMS) is seeking qualified teachers as a support teacher in our multi-age, Upper Elementary (9-12) Montessori classroom. Support the lead teacher in establishing and maintaining the physical environment of the classroom, assist in the development of a positive productive classroom culture leading to normalization. With support from the lead teacher, observe and analyze student work, plan and deliver appropriate instruction. Support the lead teacher with record keeping to track student progress. Invest in families by building and maintaining positive relationships with parents. Supervise students and ensure their safety. Other duties as assigned.
